S.jpg (468032 bytes) DEAR FATHER PLEASE FORGIVE

I was there when they nailed Him to the tree.
Every tear He shed, He shed because of me.
His broken heart, His nail-scarred hands were more than I could bear
But I turned away and pretended not to care.

Then I heard Him cry, Dear Father, please forgive,
I'll give all I have but Father let her live.
Her road's been long and hard, I know,
She gave all she could give
So I beg you now, Dear Father, Please forgive.

I could hear all the laughter and the cheers.
As I turned I saw their anger and their fears.
But when I looked into the eyes of the man from Bethlehem
I found the love of a Savior and a friend.

Then I heard Him cry, Dear Father, please forgive,
I'll give all I have but Father let her live.
Her road's been long and hard, I know,
She gave all she could give
So I beg you now, Dear Father, Please forgive.
