Homesick for Heaven
by:  Bonnie Eichentopf

Lord, You're the name I call upon
In the middle of the night,
When waking from a nightmare
That gave me such a fright.

The peace that comes from you alone
I need so in my life,
It seems there's only anxiousness,
Much worry and much strife.

I'm ready to come home at last
To find comfort in your arms,
Security and tenderness,
And protection from all harm.

How can I say I love you
Except to give my heart?
How can I say Thank You
For all You did depart?

I'm tired of this world
Especially of it's woes,
Of all it's ups and downs I feel,

And of it's many blows.

I long to leave this wicked place
And of it's evil ways,
I long for you to fill the sky
And let me see your face.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
